🧠 Memory: ChatGPT Remembers You
Since April 2025, ChatGPT has long-term memory. You can tell it “Remember that I prefer Python over JavaScript” and it will remember across all future conversations. No more repeating the same information — it knows your preferences, your work, and your projects.
Tip: Go to Settings > Personalization > Memory to see what it remembers. You can delete specific memories or disable the feature entirely. Warning: if you turn off data sharing, all transcripts and projects are permanently deleted.
🔍 ChatGPT Search: Google's Rival
ChatGPT Search launched in October 2024 and has been free for everyone since February 2025, without even needing an OpenAI account. Instead of dozens of links, you get a comprehensive, sourced answer. OpenAI allows businesses to customize how their content appears in search results.
🎨 AI Image Generation (GPT Image)
Since March 2025, image creation uses GPT Image instead of DALL-E 3. The biggest improvement: accurate text rendering within images. Ideal for branded content, logos, and infographics. All images carry C2PA metadata to verify they're AI-generated.
🤖 Custom GPTs & GPT Store
GPT Builder lets you create specialized chatbots without coding. Tell ChatGPT what you want your GPT to do, provide it with data, and it will create a custom AI assistant. Over 3 million custom GPTs already exist in the GPT Store.
🎙️ Advanced Voice Mode
Natural voice conversations in real time. Talk to ChatGPT and it responds vocally, with the ability to interrupt or react to your tone. Still powered by GPT-4/4 mini. Additionally, since December 2024 you can call ChatGPT by phone (1-800-ChatGPT) for 15 free minutes per month.
📚 Deep Research
Released in February 2025, built on o3. It conducts complex web research, analyzes dozens of sources, and creates detailed reports. It takes longer than a typical response, but the results are research-assistant level.

The biggest evolution of 2025. Three types of agents:
- Operator (Jan 2025): Controls a browser inside a VM — fills forms, makes purchases, books appointments autonomously
- Codex (May 2025): Writes code, runs tests, creates pull requests. Built on fine-tuned o3
- ChatGPT Agent (Jul 2025): General purpose — multi-step tasks, controls a virtual computer, combines web search + reasoning
Since September 2025, you can even make purchases through ChatGPT (Agentic Commerce, in partnership with Stripe/Etsy).
🌐 ChatGPT Atlas: The AI Browser
In October 2025, OpenAI launched Atlas, a browser with built-in ChatGPT. It features an «agentic mode» that can perform online actions on your behalf. It directly competes with Chrome and Safari.

Announced in January 2026. It evaluates medical data in a separate chat. In partnership with b.well for health data connectivity. Not available in Europe (EEA, UK, Switzerland).

Since September 2025, Pulse analyzes your conversations and connected apps (Gmail, Google Calendar) to deliver a daily briefing. Like a personal assistant who knows what you did yesterday.

⚡ The Models Behind ChatGPT
ChatGPT now runs GPT-5.2 (December 2025) with Auto mode that automatically adjusts how much reasoning is needed. GPT-5.3-Codex (February 2026) specializes in code. The o-series models (o3, o4-mini) «think» before responding — ideal for math, coding, and scientific reasoning.
